Mrs. Hewlett: Age 5

Mrs. Hewlett Now

This August marks my 16th year of teaching. I have taught grades Pre-K through 2nd grade. This year I will be teaching Kindergarten!!! I look forward to the new year with great enthusiasm!!!!

Growing up primarily in Lexington, I graduated from Tates Creek High School and later from Towson State University in Maryland. I completed my Master's degree in Elementary Education in 2001 at Georgetown College.

I am happily married to Drew and am the very proud mother of two boys, Tyler, age 18 who will be attending Eastern Kentucky University this Fall, and Trevor, age 16, who will be a junior at Woodford County High School. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, READING,, music, motorcycling and NASCAR racing! (GO Elliott Sadler #19). I am also an animal lover! I have three dogs, ( Harlee, Otis and Gidget) and two cats, (Snuggles and Ringo)!

I sincerely enjoy working with the students, families, and staff of Huntertown Elementary. My approach to teaching is to provide a fun, yet structured atmosphere for learning. I expect all students to always do their best, come prepared each day and to treat each other with kindness. I believe if these goals are met, everything else will fall into place.

I realize mine is a very special job, one that has many rewards and challenges. I do my best everyday to provide an atmosphere where each student feels welcome, safe, and excited about learning! As your child's teacher, I look to build lasting relationships with my students and their families. I encourage parent participation whenever possible!!!!!!
