Huntertown Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes
August 6, 2007  

Present: 

Brenda Cissell, Michele Heightchew, Nicole Stromberg, Christy Collins, Angie Wolfe, Sarah Paris, Julie Poplin, Ellen Lowe, Amy Waters, Sharon Wilmarth  

PTO voted YES to approve 7/26/07 PTO meeting minutes.  

Treasurer Report

Taxes for 06/07 were delivered to Mr. Hestand.  October is the official due date for PTO taxes.

Huntertown received a late notice for School Specialty via 3/20/07 letter.  Check was written on 5/9/07

Angie will take care of outstanding t-shirt money.

Brenda will go to bank to add signatures to the PTO bank account.

Nicole submitted a sample budget for 07/08.

Paperwork is complete for debit card, Nicole will get soon.

Nicole could not get account balance because she did not have password and pin #.  She will get a pw & pin for future use.  Previous balance was $13,472.76

Nicole confirmed with Wo. Co. BOE that PTO will be reimbursed $45,000 in September.

Nicole gave two blank checks to Angie for mulch and Southern Belle expenses.

PTO voted YES to activate “PaySchools” (an online payment system) which charges 4% of each transaction.  

FUNDRAISING

Michelle Heightchew will monitor all fundraisers and give a monthly status report of each.  

Other

Mrs Wilmarth gave a presentation regarding a music enrichment program at Huntertown that would last approx 75 minutes per class, 245-400pm, and would meet 1x per week with approx 50-100 students with volunteers provided by the PTO.  Periodic presentations would be given by students.   

PTO voted YES to approve proposal and fund $1000 to cover teacher pay and materials for the music enrichment program.  Each child will be asked to pay a $10 fee, but PTO will provide scholarships as needed.   

Ms. Waters gave a presentation regarding a sports enrichment program at Huntertown that would last approx 75 minutes per class, 245-400pm, and would meet 1x per week with approx 50-100 students with volunteers provided by the PTO.  Some examples given were Fall Football, Winter Jump Rope and Spring Soccer, no extra materials should be needed, unlimited number of players, male volunteers encouraged to assist.

Christy Collins purchased table and chairs to be used for Cool Cats Café in cafeteria.  

Bumble Bee will be used for 07/08 t-shirt orders.

PTO voted to charge $7, $9, $11 and $15 for new s/s, l/s, sweatshirts and hoodies to be ordered this year  

There will be no charge for the school directory, however donations will be requested.  

Next PTO meeting will be September 4th.
