Huntertown Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes
June 26, 2007  

Present: 

Brenda Cissell, Michelle Heightchew, Nicole Stromberg, Christy Collins, Angie Wolfe, Cindy Thomas, Lisa Brooks  

Fundraising:

The board discussed and voted NO to Santa’s workshop for a 2007 event. 

The possibility of carnival type event this or next year was discussed.  Not as a fundraiser, but as a celebration for the kids (Fall Fest, Spring Fling or Winter Fest).

Michelle suggested possibly doing a fundraiser selling frozen bread.

Other:  Board discussed and voted YES to purchase PTO Today web based software to help manage PTO information.  Software will be $300 this year, with an annual renewal of $350 next year.  The software includes finance and volunteer organizers.  The software includes “ Pay School ” which is an online service, much like Paypal, that will allow the PTO to collect credit/debit payment/donations, for various items and functions. 

Nicole will verify gift card info regarding accountant. 

Board voted YES to wave all PTO membership fees for the 07/08 school year.
Board voted YES to purchase an end of year gift.
Board voted YES to purchase an Ellison die cut paw print to use for compliments.
Board voted YES to purchase table and chairs for the “Cats Paw Café” within the cafeteria.   
Christy Collins will take care of purchasing needed items.
Christy Collins and Angie Wolfe will work together on signs for cafeteria.

Christy will place giant calendars on the front bulletin board that will display current events for two consecutive months at a time.

Julie Poplin has volunteered to take over management and promotion of Soup Labels and Box Tops.  Nicole will contact her with more detailed info.

Brenda will prepare a draft to request suggestions for use of funds reimbursed to PTO by the Board of Education.  Draft will include that upcoming renovation will effect how and when the money will be spent.

Sarah Paris, as our Volunteer Coordinator, is requested to:  Implement/carry out “2 Hour Power” volunteer program (PTO Today sponsored program),  update/prepare/distribute membership application

prepare volunteer sign-up posters for upcoming PTO events,  form volunteer committees for movie night, muffins w/ mom, donuts with dad, and testing kits.

It has been suggested that Angie and Sarah co-chair the ice cream social and the open house, since both events involve membership/volunteer promotion and hospitality.

Brenda will chair the committee for testing kits

The board went over our annual events and scheduled all that we could at this time.  We will need a date for the open house from Mrs. PB.
