Huntertown Elementary PTO Meeting Minutes
September 4 2007  

Present:    Brenda Cissell , Michele Heightchew, Nicole Stromberg, Christy Collins, Angie Wolfe , Sarah Paris, Julie Poplin, Melinda Holbrook, Melissa Gayheart, Kaylin Rice, Mr. Wesley, Cynthia Boykin  

-PTO voted YES to approve 8/07/07 PTO meeting minutes.

-PTO voted YES to purchase a $25 railhead gift certificate for Mrs. Yanko for working ice cream social.   

Hospitality

- Angie Wolfe in charge of open house - Mrs. PB will set up 15 minute segments for class presentations.  Angie will look into an $80/month coffee service for interested teachers – Teachers also interested in a water dispenser - 20 teachers volunteered to pay $5/month - Angie will set up a 3 month trial

-Champs Skate Party scheduled for January 14th, 2008 @  $6 each-w/ 300 participants, we will get %  

Treasurer Report

-Perfect attendance tags have been ordered.  PTO will pay $1047.60 for the whole year

-Bank Account Balance  = $11,660.17 minus tags.

-We now have a PTO debit card.

-Mrs. Currens has requested money to help pay for gas, bus and scholarships for 5th grade trip.  $1600 bus/driver $3000 + 10 scholarships

-Teachers will receive an annual $50 gift, rather than a $50 reimbursement.  

FUNDRAISING

-Cherrydale  orders due Sep 12th, Oct 10th orders arrive, Nov 2 money due.   

-Each child will get an envelope

-Krogers $469 in 2007      ~    Box Top $305 + 180 not mailed in

- Campbells 11,910 points in bank -catalog available at school -Mrs.PB will decide what to do with points and we will receive a one time good deal on old labels

-Payschools is set up and should be ready to go soon.  

Membership/Volunteers

-PTO manager software is up and running .   - Over 200 volunteers are entered into the PTO software.   

Other

Enrichment Contracts have been completed for Wilmarth & Waters – they will be paid monthly.  Wilmarth wants to collect a $5 donation for program.  $5 charge info needs to go home in initial sign up form.  PTO needs to send a note to Wilmarth & Waters regarding the fees so that they understand that we want there to be a $10 charge per participant for the next session.  Christy Collins will take care of this.  PTO suggested that they possibly offer to two different age groups, so families with more than one child can have children participate at the same times and flip-flop each session.  

-PTO voted NOT to pay for 5th grade Time magazine for kids. 

-Donation of digital camera was requested by Mrs. Holbrook.  $230 is the approx cost of a new camera

-Sarah Paris will look into grants available for new teachers and the Cyber Cats program.

-Julie Poplin will donate band aides to front office.

-PTO voted YES to pay $75 for 4th  grade field trip.

-PTO voted YES to pay for the Wulfe Brothers performance.  Christy Collins will email Mrs. Owen.

-Mrs. Richardson requested that the PTO purchase Social Studies materials.

-Pre-packaged school supplies – PTO has 1st & 4th grade supply lists - still need others  CC will request

Craft Fair was discussed and will possibly be considered for 2008-09 school year.  

Next meeting will be October 9, 2007 – 6:00pm
